If you are looking for an intense workout that targets a number of different muscles and will help you burn hundreds of calories, you might want to check out Melissa Bender’s new full-body fat-burning workout.
This particular workout is 20 minutes long and alternates between cardio and toning exercises.
There are 15 rounds in total and they basically consist of the same 30-second cardio exercise each time (high knees) followed by a number of different toning exercises that last for a maximum of 50 seconds each.
These include warrior rows, side lunges, hip thrusts, push up rows, squat and press, lunge and curl, mountain climbers, temple tap abs, leg/hip lifts and side plank elbow/hip lifts, all of which are pretty straight forward to perform in terms of technique, but are physically demanding when combined with the high knees.
I haven’t actually completed the full workout myself yet, but it looks absolutely gruesome and you can tell that it’s really effective because Melissa was dripping in sweat by the end of the session, as was her male workout partner, who had to skip some of the high knee exercises at times.
As you can see, you don’t need any equipment other than a light set of dumbbells. However you might want to use a mat or a towel because some of these exercises could be a little uncomfortable if they are performed on a hard floor.
