Introduction
(2017 update: the following review is for the Keiser M3 Plus Indoor Cycle, but this particular model appears to have been discontinued and is no longer available to buy. However you can now buy the new and improved M3i model, which is essentially the same bike, but this one has Bluetooth wireless capabilities and includes a holder for your phone or tablet).
The Keiser M3 Plus Indoor Cycle has been described as ‘the best spin bike on the planet’ and the ‘best spinning bike ever’ by customers, and it is hard to disagree because we have named this particular model as the best indoor cycling bike on the market in 2015 and 2016.
As we pointed out at the time, this latest model not only looks absolutely amazing, but has the performance and functionality to match, which is why it is commonly used in group cycling classes, and is a favorite with a lot of gym chains.
It can be used either as a spin bike or as an indoor road training bike, and whilst it is quite expensive, it is definitely worth paying extra for a top quality bike such as this one.

Product Dimensions
If you want to determine how much room this bike will take up in your home, its exact dimensions (in inches) are 44.5 (H) x 25.75 (W) x 48.25 (L).
Positives
There are many reasons why this Keiser M3 Plus model stands out from the rest. For a start, it is one of the few indoor cycling bikes that you can buy that actually come with a computer display. Admittedly it isn’t that big, but it does at least indicate things like speed, time, distance, calories, etc.
Another positive aspect of this machine is that it is fully adjustable and will accommodate people of all shapes and sizes thanks to the four-way (forwards, backwards, up, down) adjustable seat and the fore and aft handlebars.
From a performance point of view, it also scores very highly because it has a really quiet drive system which barely makes any noise at all, and utilises a geared magnetic resistance system that enables you to choose from 24 different resistance levels.
If you are looking to replicate outdoor cycling indoors during the winter, for example, you will find that the riding experience is very realistic, and having used this bike on numerous occasions in the gym, I have always found it to be strong and very sturdy even when standing up, making it ideal for cycling training and for performing various different spinning routines. Plus because this machine comes with Shimano pedals, there is no danger of your feet slipping out of them.
The bike itself is said to be very easy to assemble and should take you no longer than 30-45 minutes at the most. It is also a strong, heavy-duty construction, which means that it should last you many years and can easily withstand regular use, which is one of the reasons why many gyms use this Keiser M3 Plus bike.
Negatives
It is hard to find too many negatives because if you check out the customer reviews on Amazon, for example, you will see that the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
However if one were to be super critical, you could argue that the computer display could be a little larger and easier to read, and although distance is largely irrelevant on a spinning bike, a few people have said that they would like to see the actual distance in miles or kilometers rather than units.
Other than that, though, the one slight negative is the cost because the truth is that many people may not be able to afford to pay this much money for a home exercise bike.
Closing Comments
Overall the Keiser M3 Plus Indoor Cycle is a great-looking high-performance exercise bike that is ideal for indoor cycling workouts and road training.
So if you are looking to buy a gym-standard bike that you can use at home, and can afford to buy a top-of-the-range exercise bicycle, then this is probably the one to buy.
With its 24 geared resistance levels, its non-slip pedals, its fully adjustable seat and handlebars, its backlit computer display and of course its heavy-duty construction, along with the fact that it has received nothing but positive customer reviews if you check out some of the reviews online, you can’t really go wrong with this particular bike.
