There are some people who love going to the gym as much as possible, and there are others who really struggle to motivate themselves to leave the house and get some exercise.
If you find yourself in the latter category and really have trouble keeping yourself motivated, there is one method that you can use that seems to work really well.
The trick is to reward yourself for success, and one of the best ways of doing this is to go online, find an item of clothing that you really like and promise to buy yourself this item if you hit your targets.
If you are using exercise as a means of losing weight, this garment, whether it’s a figure-hugging dress or a pair of skinny jeans, should ideally be slightly smaller than your current size so that you can only buy it if you achieve your goal.
You will find that this works extremely well as a means of motivation because you have a very real reason to hit the gym.
This also works well if you have other types of goals because if you are currently trying to get some definition in your abs through a combination of cardio and abs exercises, for instance, you could find a really beautiful two-piece bikini that you will promise to buy yourself once you start seeing some definition in this area.
Men can also use online shopping as a form of motivation because the reward doesn’t necessarily have to be linked to the actual goal.
For example, I know one person who promised to buy themselves a $2000 Tag Heuer Formula 1 Watch (like the one pictured) if they successfully managed to bulk up from a starting weight of 80 kg to a target weight of 130 kg, and although it took many months, he did indeed purchase this watch and reward himself for his efforts once he achieved this goal.
I also know of one other person who promised to buy himself a brand new motorbike if he managed to get his body fat percentage down to 10%, and incredibly he did just that, despite having quite a high body fat percentage of about 22% to start off with.
So the point I am trying to get across is that online shopping (or searching through the shops on the high street) can give you all the motivation you need to hit your targets.
You just need to find something that you absolutely love (and can afford to buy), whether it’s a beautiful dress in a smaller size, or whether it’s an expensive luxury item, for example, and promise to buy yourself this item as a reward if (and only if) you are successful.
