I have recently discovered an intense back workout from Mike Chang that you might want to use yourself to build a stronger back.
It is called the Bodybuilding Back Workout, and as you might have guessed, it is basically a routine that gives you the ultimate back workout.
If you watch the video below, you will see that there are a variety of different exercises, which include the following:
- pull-ups
- bent over barbell rows
- bent over dumbbell rows
- T-bar rows
- deadlifts
- bicycles
- side leg raises
These exercises will all help work different areas of your back and are all very effective.
One thing you need to be aware of is bad form because this can easily result in a bad injury. You will see that Mike’s form isn’t particularly good when he is doing the bent over rows, whereas his partner has perfect form, so this is the person you want to copy when performing these exercises.
I myself find the rows to be the easiest and the pull-ups to be the hardest, so I think it is good that the pull-ups are done first to get them out of the way, because they would probably be near on impossible if you were doing them at the end of the workout.
It has to be said that Mike makes all of these exercises look a lot easier than they actually are, which is why you shouldn’t be afraid to start with smaller weights, rather than the monster weights Mike is using.
He is obviously in superb shape, and you will see that even his training partner uses lighter weights than he does for some of the exercises. So it is nothing to be ashamed of.
It is always better to use lighter weights and use correct form, building yourself up gradually, rather than trying to lift the heaviest weights you possibly can and risking an injury with bad form.
