Background – Who Is Andrew Tate?
Andrew Tate, full name Emory Andrew Tate III, is a British American who originally started out as a professional kickboxer in the UK, but rose to fame after appearing in Big Brother in 2016.
He has since been involved in a number of business ventures and as a result of all this, Andrew Tate’s net worth is now estimated to be around $250m-$300m or more.
In recent years he has been involved in an ongoing argument with activist Greta Thunberg, and has courted controversy for his views about women, but he has continued to make headlines after him and his brother were arrested in Romania on suspicion of rape and human trafficking, and was ultimately sent to prison before being released in March 2023 and placed under house arrest.
It is this period in prison that I want to discuss in this article because whatever you may think about him, it is interesting to learn how he managed to stay in shape during this time.
Andrew Tate’s Workout Routine in Prison
Andrew Tate continued to post on Twitter during his time in prison, and it is evident that despite being held in a small cell, he still managed to exercise and maintain his muscular physique to some degree.
I am in a cell.
I have extremely limited freedom of action.
Every single day,
I do 500 squats.
500 push-ups.
Practice my tiger paw technique.
Walk 10km.
Write and complete lessons for the students inside The Real World.
Read and respond to 100s of letters.

He tweeted back in February that his workout routine consisted of 500 push ups, 500 squats and surprisingly, 10km of walking, which must have been fairly difficult to do in a tiny cell, and he would do this workout every day.
This was fairly impressive in itself, but he since tweeted that he had increased the number of reps and was doing 750 push-ups, 1000 squats and 20km of walking every day by the time he was released from prison.
So this shows the level of discipline and the overall level of conditioning that he has because this is not an easy routine to complete, particularly if you are doing this every single day with no rest days in between.
Inspiration
It is clear that Andrew Tate still has an army of supporters despite his forthright views and the charges against him, but even if you are totally against him and completely disagree with his views and his alleged actions, it is hard not to take inspiration from his disciplined prison exercise regime.
Indeed one YouTuber has attempted to recreate his prison conditions and perform the same workout routine himself to see just how difficult it is:
Final Thoughts
I don’t think too many other people will be rushing out to recreate Andrew Tate’s prison workout, but I think the key point to take away from this article is that there is no excuse for not exercising regularly and keeping yourself fit and healthy.
Even in the toughest of environments, such as a tiny prison cell, it is still possible to do bodyweight exercises and walk around as much as you can to burn calories, increase your activity level and tone your muscles.
