It is now fairly common knowledge that HIIT workouts are great for burning lots of calories and helping to shift some of your excess weight.
However they can also help tone up a number of different muscle groups, and will of course improve your fitness level quite significantly as well because they are generally pretty intense.
The trouble is that most people avoid doing these HIIT workouts because they are not sure which exercises they need to be doing in order to get the most benefit.
Plus some people automatically assume that they need to buy some exercise equipment in order to complete a HIIT workout, which isn’t always the case.
So in this article I want to share with you a new video that has recently been uploaded by The Lean Machines because this features a very effective 10 minute HIIT workout that you can do at home without any equipment:
You will see that this workout includes 20 seconds of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest each time. Therefore you will have plenty of opportunities to recuperate and recover after each exercise.
There are lots of exercises that are fairly straight forward, such as squats, push ups and lunges, for example. However there are some exercises that are technically more difficult, as well as some that are really physically demanding, such as the press up to jump, for instance, which is really tough to do for 20 seconds.
So if you find that you cannot do some of these exercises, it is recommended that you replace them with squat thrusts or star jumps so that you are still burning calories with some other form of exercise instead.
HIIT workouts sound really easy on paper because you only need to do short bursts of exercise (and have plenty of rest periods), but you will find that this is a seriously intense workout that will get your muscles working hard and your heart pumping fast. Therefore it is ideal for toning, fitness and weight loss.
